JOB SUMMARY
The Account Executive_Senior Market (AE) is responsible for selling new, retaining existing, and completing service work for Medicare-related benefits in the over/under age 65 markets. The AE is expected to meet service and sales standards with timelines and quality, to build long-term and trusting relationships with our senior market clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers.
  • Partner with people in other markets to receive referrals and write new business leads.
  • Complete service work with assigned accounts, responding promptly and accurately to clients’ needs.
  • Consult with clients on overall insurance programs.
  • Maintain good carrier relationships.
  • Cross-sell agency services when appropriate.

PERFORMANCE

1. Objective – Sales & Consulting – (70%)

  • Identify and develop insurance prospects through personal connections, referrals, and centers of influence.
  • Design insurance plans and recommend coverages to clients.
  • Make sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business.
  • Explain purchased coverage to clients and prospective clients.
  • As for referrals from clients to help generate new business.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to cross-sell agency services.
  • Accept and handle duties/prospects as assigned by agency management.
  • Follow agency systems to maintain contact with clients on a regular basis.
  • Adhere to Affiance’s documented sales process.

2. Objective – Retention and Service – (25%)

  • Work with clients to build long-lasting relationships.
  • Review existing policy coverages, at least annually, to upgrade accounts if necessary.
  • Proactively work on upcoming renewals to service and process them timely and accurately.
  • Provide customer service in resolving information updates, claims, billing and late premiums problems, and accurately documenting CRM with service records.
  • Process new and renewal business and make CRM system changes.
  • Work with insurance carriers to ensure proper issuance.
  • Review policies for accuracy.
  • Process terminating policies and customers in CRM software.
  • Compose and type general correspondence to clients.

3. Objective – Personal and Organizational Development (5%)

  • Participate in sales meetings.
  • Identify training and continuing education needs.
  • Take responsibility for learning and improving technical and sales skills regularly.
  • Manage workload, appointments, and monthly sales goals in an organized fashion.
  • Understand and comply with agency policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
  • Maintain positive relationships with other Affiance employees.

QUALIFICATIONS
The success of the AE depends on their ability to perform each key responsibility and duty to Affiance’s standards. The requirements below represent some of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.

1. Education and/or Experience:

  • Previous relevant professional experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2years insurance agency or company experience in relevant insurance discipline; OR
  • Minimum 3 years comparable education and experience, preferably in sales.
  • Advanced degree or insurance designation a plus.
  • Strong product and carrier experience preferred.

2. License(s) or Certificate(s)

  • Wisconsin Insurance license
  • AHIP Annual certification
  • FWA Annual certification
  • ACA Marketplace Annual Certification

3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lead and manage a book of business.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
  • Strong product and carrier understanding.
  • Ability to remain organized with multiple interruptions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows based software including Outlook, Word and Excel required.

4. Physical Demands

  • Ability to communicate via telephone, email, and virtual calls.
  • Ability to read and view computer screens.
  • Ability to efficiently operate all job-related office equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The AE works primarily in the office, with external meetings infrequently. The office is in a wheelchair accessible building. The office environment is active with average voice levels and interruptions, which may challenge hearing and concentration.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
